can i borrow a hair tie?

you can ask any girl and it is almost guaranteed that she will have a hair tie on her wrist. shall we declare it a trend? though, i doubt this practicality will ever go out of style. it is a necessity even if you're going out on the town just like beauty kate moss!

Sunday

ahhhhh... target

everybody loves target for one reason or another. i love target for their collaborations with designers. it gives the frugalista another edge at being chic and a chance to own something "designer" at a lower price point. i'll be looking out for these oh so pretty cynthia vincent flats to arrive spring 2010. so one more hooray for target... keep 'em coming!

Thursday

fall day

this photograph makes me want to do two things: cuddle up on a couch and have a good read or travel the world! just thought i'd share a photo that i love. it has culture, class, and style.

Monday

rent the runway

rent the runway is a company mimicking the likes of netflix. can't afford a $1000 dress? don't have to. rent the runway will be offering dresses by designers like diane von furstenberg for a quarter of the price. all you do, is wear it to the event of your choice and ship it back when you're done in the prepaid envelope! dry cleaning is included. the price ranges from $50 to $200. this will be a slow and steady progress, but surely a fashion cure to this economy. the only downfalls is you can't try on the clothes to be sure of the fit. i'll be observing carefully to see the progress, and hopefully be invited to this exclusive online community of hungry fashionistas.

Friday

intriguing photos

i stumbled upon these interesting photos and they made me laugh. hope you enjoy them as well.

start saving for spring

innerwear as outerwear will be one of the new trends spring 2010. Personally, I love this trend; Once having the ambitions of becoming a lingerie designer. It's ultra sexy and very feminine.

Monday

tis the season

Sunday was a nice fall day... my friends and I went to a pumpkin patch and picked pumpkins(Christina Aguilera was there with her new baby picking as well!!) then we had a full day of carving!! It was a lot of fun and a great way to get excited about Halloween. We roasted pumpkin seeds, ate pumpkin pie and drank oktoberfest.
Happy Halloween!

thank you mr. fisher

Donald Fisher, the founder of the gap passed away Sunday. He opened the first store in San Francisco because he and his wife had trouble finding jeans that fit. We have lost a visionary and it feels like the end of an era. The brand that he started is a cultural icon for us Americans and without Mr. Fisher we would not be able to have affordable jeans or affordable clothing for that matter. So thank you Mr. Fisher.

Saturday

the elixir of love

I'm loving my membership to LA circles. One of the benefits was free tickets to the LA opera, the elixir of love! It was a great evening enjoyed by friends and lovers!

Tuesday

la mag

Recently, I have subscribed to LA mag through an initiative called LA circles. I was informed by my boyfriend that this will be a wonderful way to stay connected and in the know of Los Angeles. My subscription finally came this past week! And I have not been able to put the magazine down! It has good articles and has a variety of 411 to share. I like it because I'm still a newbie to LA... (only living here two years), so I feel quite hip getting it every month and as if I may becoming an angeleno.

Wednesday

fire sun

The station fire, which is consuming the LA area right now, is said to be one of the largest fires for the state of California in history. And the scary part is it hasn't stopped growing. A weird fact about this fire is that it was not driven by wind. Yet, it still has flames that reach between 300-400 feet in length. Sadly, this is the hottest most damaging fire to hit LA in a long time.
On the bright side, LA is experiencing some spectacular sunsets and sunrises! And throughout the day, there is an orange glow that overpowers the sky. It is advised to stay inside during these smoky times, but I advise to gaze outside and observe the wonderful views!

lookbook

I love this photograph! The sun beaming down is inspiring and she even pulls off a denim dress pretty well. I snagged this photo from a website called lookbook. The website is for premium fashionistas who live to dress. I'm always inspired to dress more creatively after visiting the site. There are daily uploads of fashionistas from around the world. I also find it intriguing to know how people are dressing all over the world. It makes the world feel a little smaller. And that maybe there could be hope for world peace...through fashion?!

Monday

the cure, shoulder pads, the eighties

The eighties are memorable and for one reason or another, fashion likes to recycle the eighties. I for one do not understand this. Yes, I think the music is good, but only periodically, and the same goes for the fashion; Though I do appreciate the inspired rocker sequined look that is making the eighties stylish once again. Take a look and decide for you yourself.
